March Gallery Show: PRISM

21 02 2011

The Courthouse Gallery March Show Presents Prism Wendy Eeckout Jean Kiegerl Shirley Reynolds

PRISM is an exciting new group of painters that are preparing to take the Provincial art scene by storm. Made up of three of the valley’s most exciting painters, PRISM debuts at the Olde Courthouse Arts Centre during the month of March in the Courthouse Gallery. The members, Wendy Eeckout, Jean Kiegerl, and Shirley Reynolds, are artists with individual styles. They share a passion for art and have each thrived in this group with critiques and suggestions about colour, composition, and design. Their enjoyment of “Prism Breaks” and “Prism Escapes” and weekly sessions fuelled by “laughter and chocolate, have produced amazing results.”

Painting together since 2009, they adopted the name “PRISM” in January 2010. PRISM stands for: Painting Really Inspires Something Magical The subjects painted revolve around landscapes, buildings, florals, portraits, and still life. The work is executed in watercolour, acrylic, oil and mixed media (see photos below for small sample of art). The styles range from abstract to classical and on to fascinating. Samples of their work are posted on their website at www.PrismArtists.org . The show will run from March 4 through the 26.

The Courthouse Gallery is open: Thursday 4-8pm Friday and Saturday 10am – 4pm.
